About MMQ

I launched Mark Makers' Quarterly in 2024 as a way to bridge my career as a creative writer and graphic designer with my love of art and art making. I want others to be inspired by the amazing artists who make their homes in the small, nature-connected, and often quirky communities across California, from the far northern coast to the southern desert, from the central valley to the eastern mountains.

I also love print, and maybe that makes me old fashioned, but MMQ is primarily a print publication, one you can slip into your bag and take to the coffee shop, or sit down with at your breakfast table. The best way to access MMQ is by subscription, so head to the Subscriptions page and reserve your four annual infusions of inspiration today!

Why Mark Makers?

Producing art is about both the literal act of making marks on paper, fiber, clay, or other media, but also “making your mark,” expressing yourself as an artist.
